In a bid to enhance the travel experience on the Vande Bharat Express, the Howrah Division of Eastern Railway has launched a family “Phygital” magazine called “Vande Express.” This magazine, distributed for free to passengers of the Howrah-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express, combines print media with QR-enabled digital content, providing access to a variety of information on travel, tourism, heritage, lifestyle, interactive activities for children, and railway services.
Developed by ANOTHER INDIA, the magazine’s distribution incurs no financial burden on the Railways and was inaugurated by key railway officials, including Uday Shankar Jha and Vishal Kapoor. “Vande Express” not only aims to enrich the onboard travel experience but also serves as a platform to promote passenger-centric initiatives like the RailOne App, Rail Madad, and the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, among others. This initiative, under a non-fare revenue model, enhances passenger services through private participation without any cost to the Railway Administration.
The innovative approach of “Vande Express” signifies a blend of print and digital engagement, ensuring the project’s commercial sustainability. By offering a mix of traditional and digital content, the magazine contributes to passenger awareness and the dissemination of crucial railway information. This introduction marks a significant stride towards a more informed, interactive, and digitally connected travel experience, aligning with Indian Railways’ dedication to enhancing services through innovation and customer-centric initiatives.
