The Consulate General of India in San Francisco has expressed worry over the disappearance of 22-year-old Indian student Saketh Sreenivasaiah at the University of California in Berkeley. Local authorities are conducting search operations in the East Bay area. The Consulate mentioned that they are in contact with the family and local authorities to locate the missing student.
Berkeley police reported that Saketh Sreenivasaiah, a post-graduate student from Karnataka, was last seen near Lake Anza and was distressed about a relationship. His backpack, containing important documents, was discovered in a neighborhood near Tilden Regional Park. Authorities are collaborating with the East Bay Regional Park District for search efforts and are seeking the community’s assistance in finding him.
Described as Indian, Saketh Sreenivasaiah is six feet one inch tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He has been pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UC Berkeley and completed his undergraduate studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The Indian diplomatic mission in the US is actively involved in coordinating with authorities and the family during the ongoing search.
