India’s young boxers displayed remarkable performances at the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In the U-15 category, Nongpoknganba Meitei Oina (46kg) and Parshant (49kg) secured convincing 5:0 victories. Mohd Yasser (58kg) and Nivesh Pal (54kg) also stood out with impressive wins, while Ranveer (66kg) progressed due to a walkover.
In the U-17 boys’ session, Pal Nivesh (54kg) and Ranveer (66kg) continued their winning streak with 5:0 victories. Lakshay Phogat (75kg) delivered a dominant performance with a first-round RSC win. However, Pradeep (63kg) and Hanjra Jaideep Singh (80kg) faced tough opponents and lost 0:5 against strong contenders from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The Indian contingent showcased a mix of dominant wins and challenging bouts, highlighting their depth and talent across different age groups at the ongoing championships in Tashkent. Earlier, India’s U-17 girls’ boxers also had a strong start, securing impressive victories on Day 1 of the Asian Boxing U17 Championships 2026 in Tashkent.
