India’s Ambassador to the Central African Republic (CAR), Vajapayajula Venkataraman, recently met with Felix Moloua, the Prime Minister and Head of Government of CAR in Bangui. The discussions primarily focused on enhancing the bilateral relations between India and CAR.
During the day, Ambassador Venkataraman also presented his Credentials to Faustin-Archange Touadera, the President of CAR. Additionally, he handed over copies of his credentials to Marc Mandaba, the Minister of Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted the friendly relations between India and CAR, noting the CAR’s support for India’s candidature at international forums. Both countries are committed to strengthening their existing ties. India has been actively involved in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) since 2014, contributing troops through Formed Police Units (FPUs) and military observers.
The Central African Republic, a landlocked nation in Central Africa, shares borders with Cameroon, Chad, Sudan, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of the Congo.
