India’s Jemimah Rodrigues was unable to play in the fourth women’s T20I against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram due to a mild fever, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In her absence, Harleen Deol joined the playing eleven for the match, marking India’s first opportunity to bat first in the series with a secure 3-0 lead.
Jemimah Rodrigues, the second-highest run-scorer in the series behind Shafali Verma, had notable performances, including an unbeaten 69 that propelled her to ninth place in the women’s T20I batting rankings. Despite missing the recent match, Jemimah has been a key player for India, contributing significantly to their victories.
Apart from her cricket achievements, Jemimah Rodrigues was recently appointed as the captain of Delhi Capitals for the upcoming Women’s Premier League season, taking over from Meg Lanning. The match saw Harleen Deol and Arundhati Reddy being included in India’s playing eleven, as Sri Lanka chose to bowl first in the fourth T20I.
