New Delhi is gearing up for a grand display of India’s military strength this Republic Day, featuring fighter jets that played a crucial role in ‘Operation Sindoor’ soaring over Kartavya Path. Operation Sindoor, a response to the Pahalgam attack, showcased India’s decisive military action against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and PoK. The upcoming Republic Day flypast will spotlight the same fighter jets, including Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, and MiG-29, in the special Sindoor Formation symbolizing the operation’s success.
The Republic Day event will witness the debut of the Bhairav Battalion from the Indian Army, marching down Kartavya Path to honor the Supreme Commander. General Upendra Dwivedi announced the formation of these new light commando battalions post the success of Operation Sindoor, with plans to establish a total of 25 battalions within six months. Comprising elite soldiers trained for swift and high-impact operations, each Bhairav Battalion consists of around 250 members.
In addition to their Republic Day appearance, the Bhairav Battalion will also participate in the Army Day parade in Jaipur, marking a significant milestone. This year’s Republic Day celebrations will not only be ceremonial but will also serve as a strong testament to India’s military readiness, innovation, and unwavering stance against terrorism.
