Congratulations poured in as Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace achieved a milestone by launching Vikram-1, India’s first privately developed orbital rocket under Mission Aagaman. This success marks a significant advancement in India’s space industry, positioning the country as the third globally, after the US and China, to have a private entity capable of sending rockets into orbit.
Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Skyroot Aerospace for the successful launch of Vikram-1. He emphasized that this achievement signifies a new era in India’s space journey, highlighting the strength of the private space sector, promoting indigenous innovation, and solidifying India’s status as a prominent space power.
Various dignitaries, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, lauded the successful launch, acknowledging its importance in elevating India’s space ambitions. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda also commended Skyroot Aerospace for its groundbreaking feat, emphasizing the company’s role in propelling India towards greater heights in space technology.
The launch of Vikram-1 from Sriharikota by Skyroot Aerospace, operating from Hyderabad’s GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park SEZ, signifies a significant leap for India’s space industry. This achievement not only reflects the success of the ‘Make in India’ initiative but also underscores the country’s growing prowess in the global space arena.
