India’s women’s cricket team achieved a historic victory in their first-ever Test match at Lord’s, defeating England by 270 runs. Former India captain Ajinkya Rahane praised Harmanpreet Kaur’s team for their remarkable performance at the Home of Cricket. Off-spinner Sneh Rana’s 4-42 and Deepti Sharma’s 2-36 were instrumental in India’s win as they bowled out England for 186 while defending a target of 457.

Tributes poured in for India’s impressive win, with former England captain Michael Vaughan commending their all-around performance. The victory marked India’s seventh win in the last 11 women’s Tests and maintained their unbeaten record in red-ball cricket on English soil. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Richa Ghosh, and Kranti Gaud delivered standout performances during the match, with Bhatia becoming the first woman to score a century in a Test at Lord’s.

The win was witnessed by cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, ICC chairman Jay Shah, and BCCI officials Rajeev Shukla and Devajit Saikia. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla lauded the team for their historic achievement at the iconic venue. The victory was celebrated on social media, with many praising the Indian women’s team for their skill, resilience, and fighting spirit that brought pride to the nation.
