The Indore Pink Panthers claimed their first victory in the Madhya Pradesh League (MPL) T20 Scindia Cup 2026 at the Holkar Stadium, defeating the Malwa Stallions by 31 runs. The Pink Panthers posted a formidable 229/5 and then restricted the Stallions to 198/9 to clinch the win. Despite an early setback, the Panthers’ batsmen, led by Atharv Joshi and Karan Tahliyani, built crucial partnerships to set a challenging target.
Captain Venkatesh Iyer and Saransh Surana’s explosive partnership in the middle overs propelled the Pink Panthers to a commanding total. Iyer’s quickfire 54 off 22 balls, supported by Surana’s unbeaten 50 off 17 deliveries, showcased aggressive batting that put the Stallions on the defensive. The Panthers’ bowlers, particularly Shivam Shukla, then shone brightly, with Shukla’s five-wicket haul sealing the victory for Indore.
Reflecting on the win, captain Iyer acknowledged the team’s performance but highlighted areas for improvement. Iyer emphasized the need to enhance fielding and expressed satisfaction with his own batting contribution. Looking ahead, the Pink Panthers are set to face the Rewa Jaguars in their upcoming match at Daly College on Wednesday.
