Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, accused the United Arab Emirates of playing a significant role in the aggression against Iran during the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi. Gharibabadi stated that the UAE supported and facilitated military aggression against Iran, making it an aggressor rather than just an accomplice. He emphasized that Iran’s actions, including targeting US bases in the UAE, were in line with the UN Charter and its right to self-defense.
The Deputy Minister responded to allegations by the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, labeling them as baseless. He pointed out that every warplane taking off from the UAE had been documented, linking the country to the aggression against Iran. Iran had submitted 120 diplomatic notices to the UN Security Council, providing evidence of the UAE’s involvement in targeting Iranian people and infrastructure.
Gharibabadi highlighted that the UAE’s actions violated the 1974 UN General Assembly Resolution, emphasizing that providing services to aggressors constituted aggression itself. He stressed that Iran could not tolerate the situation any longer, especially with the involvement of the UAE, a neighboring country. The Deputy Minister reiterated that Iran’s responses were within the framework of self-defense and aligned with the principles of the United Nations.
