Iran’s exiled crown prince, Reza Pahlavi, called for decisive action from President Donald Trump and the United States to assist the Iranian people. Pahlavi emphasized that timely support from Washington could accelerate the downfall of Iran’s ruling establishment and save lives. He highlighted the Iranian people’s strong expectation that President Trump would fulfill his commitments, unlike past US leaders who, according to Pahlavi, had abandoned Iranians in critical times.
Pahlavi noted President Trump’s warning to the Iranian leadership about facing consequences if violence against civilians escalated. He described this message as encouraging and empowering for protesters within Iran. While acknowledging the importance of timing in US actions, Pahlavi stressed that the struggle for change in Iran would persist regardless. He expressed confidence in President Trump’s integrity, believing that the President would honor his promises, albeit with an uncertain timeline.
The exiled crown prince clarified that he was not advocating for a full-scale military intervention but rather targeted measures to weaken Iran’s security apparatus. Pahlavi proposed actions aimed at degrading the regime’s repressive capabilities, including targeting the leadership of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard and its command infrastructure. He underscored the need to level the playing field for unarmed civilians confronting state violence, emphasizing the defenselessness of the Iranian people against military force.
Pahlavi suggested that the US could further assist by intensifying economic pressure on Iran, such as blocking the regime’s assets globally and dismantling its fleet of covert tankers. He also urged the deployment of secure communication tools like Starlink to facilitate communication within Iran. Pahlavi argued that US support for the Iranian people aligned with global stability, countering the regime’s history of exporting terror over decades.
Regarding concerns about American inaction hindering the movement, Pahlavi asserted that the responsibility ultimately lay with the Iranians themselves. He emphasized the indefinite nature of the fight for freedom, stating that the struggle would persist until victory. Pahlavi highlighted that international support, particularly from the United States, could expedite the regime’s fall and minimize casualties, urging swift action from the global community.
The United States’ relationship with Iran has been complex since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, characterized by sanctions, diplomatic tensions, and occasional military standoffs.
