The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) targeted various US military sites, including a Patriot radar system and the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, along with American locations in Jordan. The IRGC Navy hit weapons support depots, a satellite communications center, and accommodation used by US troops in Bahrain. Additionally, the IRGC Aerospace Force carried out missile and drone strikes on the US Fifth Fleet’s headquarters, causing fires in its fuel storage facilities.
The IRGC reported destroying a Patriot radar system, the Fifth Fleet’s air-control radar, and a C-RAM early warning radar system. They also launched a ballistic missile at a key facility in Jordan where American forces were stationed, emphasizing that the retaliation was not against the Jordanian people. In response, the United States initiated a series of strikes against Iran, with President Trump vowing to intensify the attacks over consecutive nights.
Trump expressed the need for wealthy Gulf nations to reimburse the US for safeguarding the strategically vital region, highlighting the financial burden of defending allies. He called for countries benefiting from US military protection to contribute financially, stating that the US was ensuring security in the Gulf while supporting key regional partners.
