The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that they conducted precise airstrikes in Iran, resulting in the deaths of seven senior Iranian military commanders, including Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and the Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Iran has not officially confirmed these casualties. The joint offensive by the United States and Israel targeted Iran’s military and strategic infrastructure, escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The IDF revealed that the operation, carried out by the Israel Air Force (IAF), targeted high-ranking Iranian security officials in Tehran. Among those reportedly killed were Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Israel accused Pakpour of leading efforts to harm Israel and overseeing missile and drone operations against Israeli targets.
Israel also named other officials killed in the airstrikes, including Salah Asadi, Mohammad Shirazi, and individuals associated with Iran’s SPND weapons development body. The IDF claimed that these officials were instrumental in missile production, coordinating with regional proxy groups, and advancing weapons programs, including those related to nuclear development. The IDF stated, “The world is a better place without them.”
Reports from Iranian state media suggested that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also killed in the US-Israel strikes, marking a significant moment in Iran’s history. Tehran’s response to the attacks sparked conflicts across the Middle East.
