At least two individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained injuries in an Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah sites in Deir Aames, southern Lebanon. The strikes were part of escalated Israeli attacks in the region. Lebanon’s Civil Defense reported the rescue of 29 civilians trapped in buildings damaged by airstrikes in Doueir and Nabatieh. The Israeli army issued evacuation warnings for several towns, including Nabatieh, Kfarhouna, Aaramta, Mlita, Jarjouaa, and Houmine al Fawqa.
Hezbollah retaliated by targeting Israeli forces and military positions in Zawtar al Sharqiya, southern Lebanon. The group used an attack drone to strike an Israeli Merkava tank near Bustan Zattam and shelled Israeli soldiers and vehicles near Tallet al Khazzan and the town’s riverbed. Additionally, Hezbollah engaged Israeli forces at close range in Zawtar al Sharqiya, leading to a retreat by the troops before heavy Israeli bombardment.
In a separate incident, Israeli warplanes conducted a second strike on a building in the Mashrouaa al Rouz area near Abbasiyeh, Tyre, completely destroying it. Further airstrikes hit Tyre and the Rashidieh Palestinian refugee camp. Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported a total of 3,269 fatalities and 9,840 injuries from Israeli attacks between March 2 and May 27. Meanwhile, in central Gaza City, seven Palestinians were killed, and 18 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house. The Palestine Red Crescent Society confirmed the casualties, while the Israeli military targeted two senior Hamas figures in the area.
