Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has cautioned that Iran will face significant repercussions if it continues to resist American and international demands. Azar emphasized Israel’s commitment to countering Iranian threats until they are eliminated. He highlighted the necessity of degrading Iran’s capabilities due to the threats posed to Israel, including nuclear and ballistic threats, along with support for proxies targeting Israel.
The Ambassador expressed readiness to confront Iran if it persists in defying international requirements and praised the United States for its stance. Azar underscored the importance of negotiations leading to the removal of fissile material from Iran, cessation of uranium enrichment, and halting military nuclear activities and missile projects. He expressed optimism about the ongoing negotiations and the potential for stabilizing the region swiftly.
Regarding regional dynamics, Azar noted the support from Saudi Arabia and the UAE for the US-led operation against Iran, emphasizing a unified desire for a change in Iran’s policies. He highlighted the alignment among Gulf countries in addressing the threats posed by the Iranian regime and the collective aspiration for regional stability.
Azar addressed the role of Pakistan in facilitating talks between the US and Iran, emphasizing that the choice of negotiator is secondary to achieving common interests. He refrained from commenting on Pakistan’s trustworthiness due to the absence of diplomatic relations with Israel, emphasizing reliance on the judgment of the US President.
In response to questions about Israel’s air defense system, Azar highlighted the success rate of interception systems like Iron Dome, Arrow 3, and others. He acknowledged occasional missile penetrations and emphasized citizen cooperation in adhering to safety protocols to minimize casualties. Azar outlined ongoing efforts to target military installations in Iran and expressed confidence in the effectiveness of the pressure exerted on the Iranian regime.
