Every morning, milk collected from villages in Rajasthan embarks on a journey to Jaipur, thanks to Jaipur Dairy. Recently, the Jaipur District Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited underwent a significant modernization and renovation project worth Rs 133 crore.
The upgraded facility, now equipped with cutting-edge technology and advanced processing systems, is about to be inaugurated. With this massive boost, Jaipur Dairy is gearing up for a major transformation. The facility showcases new-age machinery replacing old equipment, automated systems streamlining processes, and expanded production capacities.
At the core of this upgrade is a substantial increase in capacity. Jaipur Dairy can now process 20 lakh litres of milk daily, up from the previous 12 lakh litres. Additionally, its milk pouch packaging capacity has risen from 10 lakh litres to 16.5 lakh litres per day, ensuring quicker delivery and a more robust supply chain.
The modernized plant is also designed to produce up to 70 tonnes of ghee daily, positioning Jaipur as a key hub for value-added dairy products. The installation of modern boilers and advanced processing systems supports the large-scale production of ghee, butter, and whey-based products.
For Rajasthan’s dairy farmers, this modernization opens up new avenues. During peak seasons, surplus milk often poses logistical issues. The enhanced processing capacity will enable Jaipur Dairy to handle larger volumes efficiently, reducing wastage and providing farmers with better market access.
Consumers are also set to benefit from higher processing and packaging capacities, enhancing product availability while upholding quality and hygiene standards. State Dairy Minister Joraram Kumawat, after inspecting the facility, hailed the project as a significant milestone for Rajasthan’s dairy sector.
Officials from the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) and Jaipur Dairy briefed the Minister on the technological enhancements and operational efficiencies achieved through the renovation. The modernization of Jaipur Dairy is not just seen as an infrastructure upgrade but as a symbol of Rajasthan’s evolving rural economy, blending technology, cooperative networks, and farmer involvement to drive the next phase of the White Revolution.
When the new plant commences full-scale operations, its impact will extend well beyond Jaipur, benefiting village milk collection centers and urban households, and fostering a stronger dairy ecosystem for producers and consumers alike.
