Jaipur is bracing for a busy Thursday with significant events lined up across the city. The 78th Army Day Parade on Mahal Road and Shaurya Sandhya, a valor ceremony at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Stadium, are set to take place. Traffic diversions have been put in place on various routes due to these simultaneous events.

The highlight of the day will be the 78th Army Day Parade, a first-time event in Jaipur, to be held on Mahal Road. Spectators must have prior registration and carry an Aadhaar card for entry. The parade will commence with the honoring of soldiers with Sena Medals (Gallantry) for their sacrifices during Operation Sindoor.

Leading the parade will be officers decorated with the Ashok Chakra, Param Vir Chakra, and Maha Vir Chakra, saluting the Parade Commander, creating a deeply symbolic and inspiring atmosphere.

Mizoram Governor and former Army Chief General V.K. Singh will grace the parade as the chief guest, accompanied by dignitaries including Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan. The parade will feature contingents from seven regiments, showcasing tanks, missiles, armoured vehicles, drone technology, and modern warfare capabilities.

Fighter jets and Army helicopters will conduct flypasts, with helicopters showering flower petals during the march. The parade route spans nearly three kilometers, with an estimated two lakh spectators expected. Traffic diversions will be in place on Mahal Road in the Jagatpura area from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., with alternative routes advised for commuters.

Later in the evening, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the Shaurya Sandhya program at SMS Stadium at 5.30 p.m., following his arrival at the Army Station from the airport. Additionally, preparations are in progress for President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Jaipur on Friday, with a rehearsal scheduled from the airport to the Sikar Road-Neendad route this afternoon.
