Jaipur Lok Sabha MP Manju Sharma highlighted the historical roots of women’s reservation in politics, tracing it back to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s initiatives. She underscored the significance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, ensuring 33% reservation for women in legislative bodies for their active involvement in governance and decision-making processes.
Speaking at the Nari Shakti Vandan Women’s Conference, MP Manju Sharma encouraged women to support the legislation through active participation. She mentioned Prime Minister Modi’s belief in women’s crucial role in national progress and emphasized women’s contributions across various sectors, rooted in India’s cultural values.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma commended PM Modi’s efforts in empowering women since 2014, citing initiatives like Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao. He highlighted schemes such as Lakhpati Didi and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, focusing on women’s economic and social upliftment, along with housing and sanitation programs.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari reiterated the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment at both central and state levels. She lauded the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam as a groundbreaking reform providing women with 33% reservation in Parliament and State Assemblies, aiming for inclusive policy-making and governance.
