External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar participated in bilateral discussions with various global leaders during the Informal Meeting of the European Union (EU) Foreign Ministers in Cyprus. The talks primarily focused on enhancing cooperation across different sectors and addressing the evolving situation in West Asia.
One of the key meetings was with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, where they deliberated on the Ukraine conflict and ways to strengthen bilateral ties. Sybiha emphasized the importance of ending the war and achieving lasting peace, seeking India’s support and engagement in global peace efforts.
Additionally, Jaishankar met with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to exchange perspectives on regional developments in West Asia. The discussions aimed to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation in the region.
During his interaction with the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, Jaishankar explored avenues for India-EU collaboration and discussed the geopolitical landscape in West Asia. The meetings underscored the significance of international cooperation in addressing regional challenges.
