External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged with the Foreign Ministers of South Korea, Canada, and Japan during the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in France. Jaishankar and Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand discussed enhancing bilateral relations and developments in West Asia.
Additionally, Jaishankar met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun to strengthen the partnership between their countries. He also had a meeting with Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi on the sidelines of the G7 FMM.
Jaishankar’s visit to France for the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting aims to address global issues like the conflict in Ukraine and West Asia. The meeting will focus on negotiating de-escalation in Iran and the Middle East, supporting Ukraine, and increasing pressure on Russia.
France and its partners plan to collaborate on various initiatives, including repairing Chernobyl’s confinement structure and combating drug trafficking in Syria. They will establish a task force to combat drug trafficking and organize security conferences to address regional challenges.
