The Jal Jeevan Mission (Har Ghar Jal), initiated by the Modi government in 2019, has significantly impacted the lives of many by providing access to clean tap water. This nationwide endeavor has been successful, reaching even remote and hilly regions.
In Doda district, Jammu and Kashmir, the Jal Jeevan Mission has made a tangible difference by establishing safe drinking water supply systems, greatly appreciated by the locals. Official records show the operation of about 490 underground water tanks and 376 filter plants to ensure a continuous supply of clean water.
In Doda district alone, 146 schemes have been executed under the JJM gravity pipe network. Out of the proposed 490 underground water tanks, 447 are already completed, along with 125 out of 376 filter plants.
