In a significant development in Punjab’s security efforts, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police has dismantled an arms smuggling group by apprehending three individuals and seizing five .32-bore pistols, nine magazines, and 22 cartridges. The arrested suspects, identified as Manjot Singh, Sandeep Singh, and Amandeep Singh, were found to be involved in illegal arms trafficking within the state, according to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav. Preliminary investigations are ongoing to uncover the complete network of illegal arms activities.
Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur disclosed that based on credible information, Manjot Singh was captured near a bus stand in Jalandhar with a .32-bore pistol. Following his statement, Sandeep and Amandeep were swiftly apprehended in Bhaini Paswal village in Gurdaspur. Subsequently, upon Amandeep’s revelation, four more .32-bore pistols, eight magazines, and 18 cartridges were recovered from a concealed location near Dhusi Bundh at Bhaini Paswal village. The police anticipate more arrests and discoveries as the investigation progresses.
