The Cabinet meeting coincides with the opening day of the Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, with a positive announcement anticipated regarding Daily Rated Workers (DRWs). Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s address marked the start of the Budget Session, followed by obituary references, and is scheduled to conclude around 12.30 p.m. The Cabinet’s primary focus will be on finalizing budget-related proposals, with limited departmental agenda items, subject to the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, also responsible for the Finance portfolio, will present the budget after responding to the debate on the L-G’s address on February 5. The 27-day-long budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will span three months until April 4.
