Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo highlighted the significant role of the Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) platform in expediting major projects in the region. PRAGATI has been instrumental in resolving long-pending issues and ensuring the timely execution of key initiatives. One example cited was the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project, which saw notable progress after being monitored under PRAGATI.
The Chief Secretary mentioned that projects exceeding Rs 500 crore are overseen by the Prime Minister’s Group, with critical projects directly reviewed by the Prime Minister through PRAGATI meetings. Currently, 61 projects in Jammu and Kashmir, with an investment of over Rs 4.12 lakh crore, are being monitored by the PMG across sectors like connectivity, energy, and social infrastructure.
Under PRAGATI, 15 major projects are directly monitored by the Prime Minister, facilitating swift issue resolution and fair compensation to affected families. Notably, out of 59 issues addressed in previous PRAGATI meetings, 57 have been resolved, showcasing Jammu and Kashmir’s strong performance. The Chief Secretary also highlighted the completion of high-impact projects like the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link and AIIMS Jammu under PRAGATI monitoring.
Nine additional projects, including the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway Corridor and AIIMS Awantipora, are progressing well under PRAGATI monitoring. The Chief Secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing PRAGATI directives effectively at the Union Territory level, ensuring timely completion of all developmental projects.
