Elaborate arrangements were reviewed for the upcoming pilgrimage scheduled to start in August this year. The Chief Secretary examined the efforts of Divisional and District Administrations to facilitate a hassle-free Yatra. Key aspects such as sanitation, water supply, medical facilities, and emergency response were part of the detailed assessment.
The meeting, attended by top officials including Additional Chief Secretary, PWD, and Principal Secretary, Home, emphasized the importance of disaster mitigation initiatives. Steps like online registration systems, real-time weather alerts, and crowd monitoring mechanisms were highlighted. The administration is also focusing on landslide mitigation and enhancing monitoring systems for pilgrim safety.
Accommodation facilities at various locations, crowd management strategies, and traffic and transport management plans were discussed. The administration is working on ensuring uninterrupted access for emergency vehicles and establishing medical camps along the Yatra route. The meeting also addressed essential services like drinking water supply, electricity, communication facilities, and waste management for the pilgrimage.
