Opener Qamran Iqbal’s unbeaten 94 led Jammu and Kashmir to 186/4 against Karnataka on Day 4 of the Ranji Trophy final. This extended their lead to 477 runs, with Sahil Lotra providing crucial support.
Starting the final session at 89/3, Jammu and Kashmir displayed positive intent. Qamran and Abdul Samad accelerated the scoring rate, putting pressure on Karnataka with quick boundaries.
Qamran reached his half-century in the 33rd over and continued to find boundaries, frustrating Karnataka’s bowlers. Despite a brief exchange with Vijay Kumar Vyshak, Qamran remained focused and ended the day just six runs shy of a century.
Karnataka’s bowlers initially had success, reducing Jammu and Kashmir to 11/2 by Lunch. However, partnerships led by Qamran and captain Paras Dogra, and later with Abdul Samad, helped Jammu and Kashmir establish a commanding position.
