Jammu and Kashmir, led by Yawer Hassan and Shubham Pundir’s impressive batting, reached 178/2 against Karnataka at tea on Day 1 of the Ranji Trophy final in Hubli. The duo showcased excellent partnership, with Yawer scoring 88 runs and Pundir contributing an unbeaten 64 runs.

Pundir completed his fifty with a boundary in the 45th over, while Yawer missed a century by just 12 runs. Prasidh Krishna’s breakthrough by dismissing Yawer for 60 runs ended their partnership.

After losing Yawer, Pundir continued his aggressive play and ended the session at 64 not out, supported by skipper Paras Dogra at 9 not out. Jammu and Kashmir scored 74 runs in the post-lunch session, losing only one wicket.

Jammu and Kashmir had a solid start with openers Yawer Hassan and Qamran Iqbal surviving the initial overs. Iqbal fell for six runs to Prasidh Krishna, but Yawer and Pundir held firm. At lunch, Jammu and Kashmir were comfortably positioned at 104/1.
