In honor of twelve years of the Narendra Modi government, the Jamnagar District Home Guards took a special step to enhance environmental conservation efforts. They crafted over 12,000 seed balls using seeds from various tree species like Drumstick, Lemon, Khair, Goras, Tamarind, Harmo, Banyan, Jamun, Peepal, and Gulmohar. These seed balls were made with natural black soil and cow dung manure.
The Jamnagar Municipal Corporation also played a significant role in this initiative. The seed balls will be handed over to the Jamnagar Forest Department for planting in different areas before the monsoon season, aiming to increase green cover and promote environmental conservation. Girish Sarvaiya, Jamnagar District Home Guards Commandant, highlighted their contribution to Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Green Revolution’ vision.
Sarvaiya mentioned that the seed balls, resembling laddus, are a mix of tree seeds, soil, and cow dung. These 12,000 seed balls will be planted in suitable locations by the Forest Department before the rainy season. With the arrival of rains, the seeds will sprout, eventually growing into mature trees.
