The Jharkhand Police have successfully solved the tragic murder case of a 14-year-old girl and her three-year-old brother in Hazaribagh district. The main accused, Sanjit Paswan, was apprehended for the heinous crime. Investigations revealed that Paswan attempted to assault the girl and resorted to violence when she resisted, leading to the deaths of both children.
During interrogation, Paswan admitted to luring the siblings on his scooter under false pretenses on May 27. He took them to a cremation ground in Sindoor village, where he tried to sexually assault the girl. In a brutal turn of events, he killed her when she raised an alarm. To cover up his actions, he also strangled the three-year-old boy and disposed of their bodies in a nearby well.
The father of the children, Mohammed Aamir, reported them missing, prompting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to be formed under Additional SP (Operations) Amit Kumar’s supervision. The girl’s body was recovered on May 31, followed by the discovery of her brother’s body the next day in a well nearby. The investigation, aided by forensic and dog squads, led to the identification of Paswan through CCTV footage, ultimately resulting in his arrest.
Sanjit Paswan, an employee at a vehicle showroom, was apprehended by the SIT as he attempted to flee the district. The police recovered crucial evidence, including the scooter used in the crime and the sack in which the boy’s body was concealed. The case of the double murder has been successfully resolved based on concrete scientific and technical evidence.
