Director Pragabhal’s film ‘Jockey,’ centered around the traditional Madurai goat fight, will premiere on January 23. Originally slated for January 14, the film was postponed by its makers for undisclosed reasons.

Dr. Pragabhal, renowned for directing India’s first mud racing film, helms ‘Jockey.’ The movie promises a unique cinematic experience, showcasing the intense world of traditional goat fighting in Madurai.

The film’s director shared his inspiration from witnessing goat fights in Madurai, emphasizing the deep bond between the animals and their handlers. ‘Jockey’ aims to present this centuries-old cultural tradition authentically on screen, reflecting Tamil heritage.

Starring Yuvan Krishna, Ridhan Krishnas, and Ammu Abhirami, ‘Jockey’ features cinematography by Udhayakumar and music by Sakthi Balaji. The film’s cast underwent rigorous training to authentically portray the bond between the goats and their human counterparts.
