Jordan’s air defense systems successfully intercepted eight Iranian missiles aimed at the kingdom early Thursday, as confirmed by the Jordan Armed Forces. The interception was part of standard defensive procedures to protect Jordan’s sovereignty and citizens without any casualties or material damage. Teams from the Royal Engineering Corps managed the debris in various locations following security protocols.
The Jordan Armed Forces emphasized their readiness to respond to any threats while maintaining surveillance over the kingdom’s airspace. Meanwhile, the US military conducted additional strikes against Iran, focusing on Iranian military assets that pose risks to vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. The strikes targeted coastal defense systems and cruise missile facilities on Greater Tunb Island during the operation.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps retaliated by launching strikes on US military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan, damaging aircraft shelters, command centers, and strategic drones. The IRGC’s Aerospace Force specifically targeted the US military base at al-Azraq in Jordan, destroying shelters housing fighter jets and strategic drones.
