Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao strongly criticized the tragic death of a two-month-old infant during Kummera Mallanna Jatara in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district. He demanded action against the perpetrators, regardless of their political affiliations. Rao visited Kummera village to offer condolences to the grieving family and show support to those seeking justice.
The incident, which occurred on February 18, involved a family from the OBC community being denied entry to a temple and subsequently attacked. The child sustained severe injuries and passed away on February 21 despite medical efforts. Rao emphasized the need for justice, urging that murder charges be pressed against the eight accused individuals involved in the assault.
Expressing disappointment in the government’s response, Rao criticized the authorities for their silence and alleged attempts to manipulate the investigation. He stressed the importance of holding the culprits accountable, advocating for their immediate arrest and prosecution. Rao also called for substantial compensation for the bereaved family and emphasized the necessity of ensuring that the perpetrators face appropriate legal consequences.
