Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K. T. Rama Rao met Union Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy in New Delhi to push for the immediate revival of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) plant in Adilabad. Rao, accompanied by farmers and CCI Sadhana Samithi representatives, highlighted the earlier commitment by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to revive the plant. The CCI facility, sprawling across 2,300 acres with a capacity of 4 lakh tonnes, requires an estimated investment of Rs 2,000 crore for revival.
Rao proposed that with a contribution of Rs 250 crore each from the Centre and the state government as viability support, the project could recommence, potentially generating jobs for about 6,000 individuals. Drawing a parallel to the support extended to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Rao emphasized the need for similar backing for the Adilabad CCI plant. He affirmed the BRS’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the revival of the CCI plant in Adilabad.
In a separate interaction with the media in the capital, Rao clarified that his efforts were solely aimed at Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for the betterment of Telangana. He emphasized that his actions were not driven by personal animosity but by concerns over the decisions impacting the populace. Rao criticized Reddy for consistently targeting the BRS party despite dismissing it as inconsequential, questioning the Chief Minister’s motives and statements.
