A day after a fire tragically claimed 15 lives in a commercial building in Lucknow’s Aliganj area, the Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has initiated safety checks at commercial establishments, especially coaching institutes in Kanpur. Kanpur Dehat District Magistrate Kapil Singh revealed that 37 coaching centers are currently operational in the city, with officials conducting thorough inspections to ensure compliance with fire safety measures.
In response to the incident, KDA Secretary Abhay Pandey stated that a comprehensive campaign has been launched in Kanpur, focusing on assessing the safety standards of coaching institutes and businesses operating in basements. Following the tragedy, actions have been taken on 30 buildings in the city to enforce safety protocols.
Meanwhile, students at Allen Coaching Institute witnessed a fire safety inspection at the premises, with one student mentioning that the institute might be sealed temporarily for safety assessments. Expressing support for the security checks, students emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety in the wake of the unfortunate events in Lucknow.
In a similar vein, safety inspections were also conducted at coaching institutes and libraries in Ayodhya, reflecting a broader effort to enhance safety measures in educational establishments.
