Karan Singh and Manas Dhamne have received main draw wild cards for the upcoming Delhi Open starting on February 16 at the DLTA Complex. Additionally, Digvijay Pratap Singh has been granted a main draw wild card, and four qualifying singles wild cards have been confirmed by the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA).
Karan Singh’s wild card selection is a result of his significant role in India’s recent Davis Cup victory against the Netherlands and his consistent performances in professional tennis. Meanwhile, 18-year-old Manas Dhamne, recognized as a promising talent in Indian tennis, continues to showcase rapid progress and competitive maturity, making the Delhi Open a valuable opportunity for him to gain experience against higher-ranked opponents.
Digvijay Pratap Singh, who served as a reserve member in India’s Davis Cup team, has also been given a main draw wild card, acknowledging his contributions and growing reputation in domestic tennis. DLTA president Rohit Rajpal emphasized that these selections not only recognize recent achievements but also aim to invest in the future of Indian tennis.
The DLTA has further provided qualifying singles wild cards to Nitin Kumar Sinha, Ishaque Eqbal, Udit Kamboj, and Denis Yevseyev, who will compete in the qualifying draw for a chance to enter the main tournament. The Delhi Open remains a crucial platform for Indian players to gain exposure to strong international competition, earn ranking points, and enhance their match experience.
