The Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy have criticized Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s governance, calling it a “government of announcements.” Kumaraswamy questioned the state government’s achievements, highlighting the lack of implementation of promised initiatives.
Responding to the completion of one month of the Shivakumar-led government, Kumaraswamy expressed disappointment in the government’s performance, emphasizing the absence of tangible results despite numerous announcements. He specifically mentioned the state government’s pledge to create 76,000 jobs, raising concerns about the progress made in fulfilling this commitment.
In a similar vein, senior BJP leader R. Ashoka launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Shivakumar’s administration, accusing it of failing to meet the expectations of the people of Karnataka. Ashoka criticized the government for alleged administrative failures, particularly in addressing the challenges faced by farmers and youth in the state.
Ashoka further lambasted the state government for its handling of issues such as women’s safety, rising prices, and deteriorating law and order. He also highlighted concerns about the business environment in Karnataka, citing uncertainties that have reportedly led investors to consider other states for opportunities. The Leader of the Opposition concluded by painting a grim picture of the state’s governance under Chief Minister Shivakumar.
