Karnataka BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra emphasized the need for party workers to strive day and night to revive the BJP’s former prominence in the state. He expressed concerns over ruling party MLAs potentially rebelling against the Congress government due to rising discontent. Vijayendra highlighted the stagnation of development in Karnataka under the current administration, claiming that the Congress is only surviving in Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, and Karnataka.
He addressed party workers at the BJP State Executive inauguration event in Bengaluru, advising them to stay vigilant during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls by the Election Commission of India. Stressing transparency and accuracy in the electoral process, he accused the Congress of spreading misinformation to undermine anti-corruption efforts and benefits for the underprivileged. With upcoming elections, including the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) election and two Assembly by-elections, Vijayendra underscored the importance of organizational readiness and grassroots mobilization.
Looking ahead to the 2028 Assembly election, Vijayendra urged party workers to intensify their efforts to bring the BJP back to power in Karnataka. Describing the state as the gateway to South India, he called for a historic electoral outcome in the next Assembly elections. Criticizing the current government for incidents like the killings of Hindu activists and members of Scheduled Castes, Vijayendra highlighted alleged failures in providing compensation and justice in various cases, including those in Surathkal and Yellapur.
