Karnataka BJP President, B.Y. Vijayendra, criticized the Congress government for engaging in what he termed as “appeasement politics” to bolster its minority vote bank. He alleged that the government had been favoring minorities at the expense of Hindus, citing the withdrawal of the Aland riot case as an example. Vijayendra stated that the BJP would oppose these policies and protest against what he called the government’s “anti-Hindu” stance.
Vijayendra also accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers’ interests in favor of real estate activities, specifically mentioning the proposed cricket stadium project near Anekal. He claimed that the government had disregarded farmers during times of crisis and criticized local representatives for not addressing the concerns of affected individuals. The BJP President vowed to support farmers and prevent the acquisition of fertile agricultural land in Anekal for the stadium project.
Regarding the selection of a Rajya Sabha candidate, Vijayendra clarified that the BJP had not opposed the potential nomination of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. He mentioned ongoing discussions within the party about the candidate selection process and emphasized that any decision regarding Deve Gowda’s nomination would be made by the national leadership, with no specific directives received thus far.
