Karnataka BJP President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, criticized Congress workers for allegedly attacking BJP leaders, stating that law and order in the state had collapsed. He claimed that Congress workers engaged in “goondaism” in Karnataka and New Delhi, referring to recent protests outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence over NEET paper leaks and police actions during a protest march.

Vijayendra condemned the incident in Karnataka where Congress workers reportedly threw eggs at BJP leaders and physically assaulted them, calling it “unpardonable.” He accused the Congress government of fostering a culture of violence, linking it to Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar’s attitude.

The BJP leader highlighted a breakdown of law and order under the current government, questioning the silence of Home Minister Priyank Kharge. Vijayendra expressed concerns about the safety of elected representatives and citizens, emphasizing the need for protection in the state.

He alleged a climate of fear in Karnataka due to attacks on public officials, political leaders, and elected representatives, attributing it to the rise of a “goonda culture.” Vijayendra challenged Congress leaders to take action against those responsible for the assaults, criticizing ministers for filing FIRs against farmers and citizens but not against their own party workers.

Warning about changing political fortunes, Vijayendra urged the government to uphold law and order, emphasizing the need for immediate police action against the Congress workers involved in the attacks.
