Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra criticized the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) for alleged corruption in recruitment processes. Vijayendra accused the KPSC of failing to ensure transparency and fairness in selecting candidates for government positions. He highlighted the need for the commission to address corruption issues and implement stringent rules to restore job aspirants’ confidence.
Vijayendra urged the Karnataka government to promptly issue notifications for the 56,432 vacancies announced earlier. He emphasized the importance of a transparent and efficient recruitment process to prevent potential protests by frustrated unemployed youths. The recruitment drive, approved by the Karnataka government, aims to fill various positions in departments like Transport, Education, Health, and Revenue.
Allegations of corruption within the KPSC have sparked debates in the Legislative Assembly, with calls for reforms and even the abolition of the commission. BJP members have raised concerns over the impact of irregularities on the aspirations of job-seeking youths, especially those from rural areas. The state government is urged to address these issues despite the KPSC being an autonomous body.
