Karnataka BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra revealed plans for a protest in Mysuru, CM Siddaramaiah’s native district, to address the state’s drug network. The decision was announced during a press conference at the BJP state office in Bengaluru. In July 2025, a significant drug manufacturing facility in Mysuru was shut down by Maharashtra Police in collaboration with Mysuru City Police.
Vijayendra highlighted the irony of a drug unit operating in the Chief Minister’s hometown, emphasizing the widespread influence of the drug mafia in Mysuru and beyond. The BJP aims to stage a protest in Mysuru to raise awareness about this issue. Additionally, discussions are ongoing regarding the Ballari padayatra, pending a decision from the party high command.
Addressing another issue, Vijayendra mentioned a recent press conference led by senior BJP MLA Vishwanath on the Kogilu Layout demolition in Bengaluru. He criticized the Siddaramaiah government’s handling of the situation, alleging a lack of adequate housing for deserving individuals. The BJP stands firm against illegal migrants and aims to prevent misuse of taxpayers’ funds.
Vijayendra accused Congress leaders of facilitating the overnight relocation of illegal migrants upon facing pressure from BJP representatives. He condemned the alleged use of hired individuals from other areas during BJP visits, labeling such actions as unacceptable. The press conference was attended by former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and former Deputy Chief Minister Govind Karjol.
