He emphasized that refraining from making inflammatory statements would prevent any legal action. Siddaramaiah questioned why BJP leaders were defensive, using a Kannada proverb to illustrate his point. Responding to BJP’s claims that the Bill targets specific individuals, he asserted that it applies to all party leaders equally. The Chief Minister highlighted that the legislation aims to safeguard peace and unity, combating the rise in hate speech. Meanwhile, Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje accused the Congress-led government of imposing an undeclared Emergency in Karnataka, opposing the hate speech regulation law. Siddaramaiah also addressed allegations of misappropriation of Gruha Laxhmi scheme funds, assuring transparency in fund disbursement. He reiterated his commitment to the party’s decisions on leadership matters, emphasizing unity over individual prominence.
