Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah highlighted the significance of non-medical staff in the health sector, stressing the need for service with compassion regardless of caste or religion. He commended the distribution of appointment orders to 1,000 individuals under the Abhaya Hasta program by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, aiming to fill various positions in the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Food Safety and Drug Administration.
Siddaramaiah expressed satisfaction at the recruitment of these individuals, emphasizing that working in healthcare involves not just a job but a noble service of saving lives and preventing illnesses. He mentioned ongoing efforts by the government to gradually fill vacant positions, particularly in crucial sectors like education, health, and policing, which directly impact public welfare.
The Chief Minister underscored the government’s commitment to transparency in recruitment and transfer processes, with over 5,700 posts, including those of doctors, being allocated through counseling to curb corruption. He warned against involvement with intermediaries in transfer-related matters, emphasizing the importance of integrity in public service.
Emphasizing the essential role of non-medical personnel in healthcare, Siddaramaiah urged them to fulfill their responsibilities with compassion, transcending societal divides. He called for a proactive approach to disease prevention within the Health Department and highlighted ongoing government schemes aimed at enhancing the state’s healthcare infrastructure.
