Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah praised Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for his six-year tenure as the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). Siddaramaiah commended Shivakumar’s organizational skills and dedication to the party, citing him as a role model for young Congress leaders. Despite facing challenges like alleged false cases and harassment, Shivakumar’s loyalty and commitment to the party remained unwavering.
Shivakumar, alongside party members, worked diligently to combat communal forces and secure power for the Congress party in the state. Siddaramaiah acknowledged Shivakumar’s support in fostering peace and unity in Karnataka for all communities. Expressing optimism about the party’s future, Siddaramaiah envisioned a Congress return to power in 2028, emphasizing collective efforts towards this goal.
In response to criticism from the opposition regarding the State Budget 2026–27, Shivakumar defended Siddaramaiah. He criticized the BJP’s protest tactics during the Budget presentation, referring to their actions as symbolic of an “empty vessel.” Amidst political exchanges, Shivakumar’s support for Siddaramaiah drew attention, hinting at potential positive developments.
