Amid ongoing speculation about leadership problems in the Karnataka Congress, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized that decisions from the party high command would be definitive. Responding to Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar’s recent comments on their discussions, Siddaramaiah stated that he would abide by the high command’s directives without question.
When asked about visiting Delhi, Siddaramaiah clarified that he would only go if invited, as he was occupied with budget preparations in Karnataka. Regarding Shivakumar’s absence from a budget meeting due to an Assam Assembly election-related event in Delhi, Siddaramaiah confirmed that permission was granted.
In light of the Supreme Court’s stance on electoral roll revision, Siddaramaiah refrained from immediate comments, expressing the need to review the situation before responding. The day also saw Siddaramaiah paying respects to former CM Kengal Hanumanthaiah on his birth anniversary and addressing the media.
Signs of tension within the state Congress persisted as Shivakumar reiterated alignment with the party’s decisions, urging leaders to refrain from public remarks on leadership issues. He emphasized that both he and Siddaramaiah were in sync with the party’s directives, dismissing rumors of discord.
