Following the recent bypoll and Assembly election results, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed gratitude to voters for the Congress party’s victories in Bagalkot and Davanagere by-elections. He emphasized that these wins reflect the accomplishments of his government and the enduring support for the party’s ideology. Despite challenges like misinformation and monetary influence, voters in Karnataka reaffirmed their trust in the Congress.
Siddaramaiah also commended voters in Kerala and Tamil Nadu for rejecting divisive politics. He attributed the Congress’ success in Kerala to strong leadership, candidate selection, and a well-executed campaign. The Chief Minister acknowledged the contributions of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to the party’s performance.
In Kerala, the Congress Legislature Party is set to elect its new Chief Minister, with Siddaramaiah expressing confidence in the state’s governance. He believes that the victory in Kerala will bolster the Congress in Karnataka as well. However, he raised concerns about irregularities and misuse of power in West Bengal, criticizing the BJP’s win as a challenge to democratic values.
Siddaramaiah also commented on Tamil Nadu, noting the unexpected scale of the election results. Despite anti-incumbency, he praised the DMK government’s welfare initiatives that resonated with the public. He mentioned the influence of actor Vijay on youth and women voters, expressing confidence in Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s ability to bounce back from the setback.
