Amid rumors of a leadership change in Karnataka, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala dismissed talks of any power-sharing agreement within the Congress. He clarified that there had been no official discussions about replacing the Chief Minister. Surjewala refrained from directly addressing the speculation surrounding Siddaramaiah’s potential resignation.
Praising both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for their party contributions, Surjewala emphasized that the recent meeting focused on Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections. He highlighted the participation of key leaders like Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and K.C. Venugopal in these discussions.
Surjewala addressed the ongoing political conjecture by labeling it as mere hearsay and dismissed the reports as speculative. He reiterated the significance of Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar within the party, emphasizing that decisions would prioritize the welfare of Karnataka’s people.
Extensive discussions were reportedly held with Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar regarding potential candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council elections. Surjewala mentioned that several names had been proposed, and further deliberations with the leaders were planned to identify the most suitable candidates for representation.
