Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar addressed concerns over controversial statements made by ministers and MLAs regarding leadership issues. He emphasized that it is the Chief Minister’s duty to manage the conduct of ministers and legislators. Shivakumar highlighted his role in informing the party leadership about internal party affairs.

Shivakumar mentioned his regular discussions with senior Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi, expressing unity in working towards strengthening the party. He acknowledged Jarkiholi’s support for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and their joint efforts to strategize for the party’s success.

In response to demands for a Dalit Chief Minister if Siddaramaiah steps down, Shivakumar commented on Minister Mahadevappa’s statement, suggesting a possible insight into leadership changes. He clarified that while there is no concrete information available to him, Mahadevappa’s remarks hint at potential developments.

Shivakumar also addressed queries about new legislators aspiring for ministerial roles, supporting the inclusion of fresh faces in the Cabinet. He emphasized the importance of nurturing a new generation of leaders within the party and indicated that decisions regarding Cabinet expansion lie with the Chief Minister.
