Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara supported the police’s actions against Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) members involved in the Azim Premji University incident. He emphasized the importance of allowing academic institutions to conduct seminars and discussions without disruption. Parameshwara stated that the government would not tolerate any attempts to disturb academic events or violate the law.
Former Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan praised Azim Premji University for its contributions to education but called for banning organizations like SPARK, linked to anti-national activities, from operating in universities. He urged a thorough investigation into the matter and emphasized the role of educational institutions in nation-building.

The university clarified that it had not authorized such an event. ABVP activists vandalized property, demanded disciplinary action against the organizers, and called for a ban on the student collective, alleging separatist ideologies were being promoted.
