Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara clarified that he is not seeking to cause confusion regarding leadership in the state. Despite supporters advocating for him to be Chief Minister, he emphasized that the final decision rests with the high command. Amid internal party tensions, Parameshwara highlighted that he has refrained from lobbying for the position and trusts the high command to decide at the appropriate time.
Parameshwara addressed the demands of his supporters, stating that while he has discouraged them from pushing for his candidacy, he cannot control their expressions of support. He emphasized that any resolution on leadership matters will come from the high command, underscoring his commitment to avoid contributing to existing confusion within the state. The Minister reiterated that he has not engaged in any lobbying efforts and has left the decision-making process to the party leadership.
In response to queries about the call for a Dalit Chief Minister, Parameshwara acknowledged the sentiments expressed by the public, indicating a willingness to respect diverse opinions. Regarding protests by government job aspirants, he acknowledged the seriousness of the issue and mentioned potential discussions within the Cabinet to address the delays in recruitment processes. Parameshwara also highlighted the government’s commitment to gradually filling the substantial number of vacant positions in various departments, including the Home Department, to alleviate concerns over job opportunities.
